OPTIONAL 10^TH GRADE WRITING ASSIGNMENT

The purpose of the written assignment is to demonstrate your understanding of and interest in the book you selected to read. All assignments must be typed or neatly written in blue/black pen. Use your own words. Answer the following assignment to earn the most points. Label your quotations and write in paragraphs.

Assignment: Select four quotations from the book that you consider interesting or important. For each quotation, write five to seven sentences explaining how the quotations represent a key element of the work and why you picked the quotations. Key elements may include the theme, author’s style, setting, conflict, plot, background information and characterization. Note the page number for each quotation and include the title and author of the book.
