Lise O’Connell began the
meeting with a welcome and introduction of all participants.
The Treasurer’s report was
presented. Lise noted two corrections
(increases) in
cost, which are for the entertainment and DJ, no new donations were noted.
Sue Bloom presented the Committee
with a check for $1,000 from Weis Market, Spring Ridge. She also has a $50.00
Wal Mart Certificate and 2 certificates from a beauty salon.
$250 will be donated from
State Farm agencies she noted. Sue will
be meeting with the bowling alley to finalize plans for the bowl-a-thon,
including give-aways which will be provided by the alley. The price for bowling is $3.50 per game and
$2.50 per shoe rental, per person.
Sue would like to offer 2 large
prizes (TV & GPS system.) The
Committee decided to offer them based on the critieria: for the student who brings in the most money
from pledges, and ; as a raffle for everybody who raises & pays at least a
total of $140.00 ($40 participation fee + $100 in pledges.) If by chance the same person would “win”
both, he/she would get to choose which one prize he/she wants. The Committee has included the stipulation of
only one prize per person.
Kelly Toms reported she wants
to sell chances for Longerberger team spirit baskets (with protectors) at four
home basketball games. The baskets have
been donated by Kelly. She will also
“stuff” each one with items of interest.
The Committee decided to set the ticket prices at $5.00 each and 3 for
$10.00. Lise will double-check to make
sure we are allowed to do this in the school. We are
waiting to hear if the Band has the raffle permit we can piggy-back on to do
this raffle; approval was given by Ms. Tarr.
The student/faculty
basketball game has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 12th. Tickets will be $5.00 per person and we’ll
offer a $100 gas card for pre-sold ticketholders. Snowdate is set for
Friday, March 14th.
The Mamma Lucia fundraiser
has been changed to February 7th.
No snow date has been set.
The Food Committee will meet
January 7th at the Roy Rogers on Rt. 26 at 7:00pm. They are looking for ideas for western style
food. Interested parents are invited to
attend.
Italian Ice will be sold at
home basketball games, in smaller cup sizes than previously used.
The idea of having an Adults
Only dance with an accompanying Silent Auction was suggested. It will be researched and revisited.
The meeting was adjourned.
